Calling all interested micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) owners or managers to submit proposals to the Department of Science and Technology Regional Office No. 12 (DOST-12) for funding under the Small Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (SETUP).
SETUP is a nationwide strategy of the DOST to encourage and assist MSMEs to adopt technological innovations to improve their operations and thus boost their productivity and competitiveness. The program enables firms to address their technical problems through technology transfer and technological interventions to improve productivity through better product quality, human resources development, cost minimization and waste management, and other operation-related activities.

It provides substantial support in terms of:

a. New technologies;
b. Technical manpower training;
c. Access to capital;
d. Access to markets;
e. Product standards and testing facilities;
f. Appropriate packaging and product labeling;
g. Sustainable raw material supply;
h. Access to information; and
i. Better or more efficient transport facilities.

DOST is a proposal-driven government agency that has SETUP as its flagship program. In Region 12, it covers the following sectors.

b.    Furniture and Home Furnishings

c.     Gifts, Holiday Decors and Fashion Accessories

d.    Marine and Aquatic Resources

e.    Horticulture

f.      Metals and Engineering

g.    Information and Communications Technology
